Tripping circuits and dead supplies, diagnosed properly

Fault Finding & Repairs

Resetting a tripped breaker and hoping is tempting, and it almost never lasts. The right answer is proper testing that tracks the fault to the exact circuit, fitting or cable causing it, whether that is one dead ring main in a house or a supply dropping out on a working site.

We test with calibrated equipment, make anything dangerous safe straight away and explain what we have found in plain English, with a fixed price to put it right. Most faults are found and fixed in one visit.

Fault finding questions, answered

How much does fault finding cost?

In Birmingham, finding a fault often costs around £80 to £150 for the first hour. Parts and repairs come on top. These are typical UK ranges, not our price list. We always give you one fixed price in writing before we start.

Why does my fuse box keep tripping?

Usually a faulty appliance, moisture in an outside fitting or a damaged cable. We test circuit by circuit to find exactly which, rather than guessing. That tripping switch is doing its job.

Half my sockets have stopped working. Is that serious?

It is usually a broken connection on one circuit, and very fixable. Loose connections make heat though, so do not leave it. We can normally trace and repair it in one visit.

How quickly can you get to us?

We keep space in the diary for faults and urgent work, and anything that sounds dangerous goes first. Call and we will give you an honest arrival time.
